As Christians, have you ever heard someone say, “How do you know what God likes?” or “How do you know what God thinks about such and such?” The Bible addresses this. First of all, those who are not Christians “know not the thoughts of the Lord, neither understand they his counsel.” (Micah 4:12)
1 Corinthians 2:14 says, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them…” Those who are not saved CAN’T know the things of God. They think it’s foolish for Christians to say they know what God likes. They can’t understand that as Christians, we CAN KNOW what God thinks about anything.
Jeremiah 9:24 says, “But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me.” The Bible says that we can know God and we can understand Him, including what He likes and what He doesn’t like.
1 Corinthians 2:12,13,16 says, “Now we have received, NOT the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God, that we might KNOW the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things we also speak, NOT in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he might instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” The Bible says we have the mind of Christ. We can KNOW what Christ, Who is God, thinks about things, and what God likes. We can know this, not by man’s wisdom, but by the Holy Ghost.
